黑料网 Acting Executive Director Dr. Liza Battad met 46 children-beneficiaries of the Supplemental Milk Feeding Program during the program\u2019s graduation ceremony on September 30, 2020 in Talavera, Nueva Ecija.<\/p>\n

The milk feeding program is the product of the partnership agreement between PCAF and Nueva Ecija Federation of Dairy Carabao Cooperative (NEFEDCCO) and the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) that aims to support the health awareness advocacy of the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

The partnership started in July and ran for 110 days to provide milk to undernourished children in selected barangays of Talavera, Nueva Ecija with a high incidence report of malnutrition.<\/span><\/p>\n

“PCAF is very grateful for this opportunity to become a partner with NEFEDCCO in implementing this project. Regular intake of milk for our children, and also for adults like us, will help boost our immune system especially during this time of pandemic,” said Dr. Battad during her message to the beneficiaries’ parents and guardians.<\/span><\/p>\n

NEFEDCCO, a second level cooperative of primary carabao-based dairy cooperatives in Nueva Ecija, spearheaded the milk feeding program that benefited malnourished children, aged three to five years old, in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Talavera Municipal Health Office.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Battad also accepted the Certificate of Appreciation and ensured that future partnership agreement will be done by PCAF to promote the participation and engagement of Civil Society Organizations and other agriculture-based cooperatives across the country that will help the Department of Agriculture in implementing and ensuring the success of its programs, projects, and activities for the agri-fishery sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

Talavera Municipal Mayor Hon. Nerivi Martinez and the whole Municipal Health Office team, Brgy. Captains of the selected barangays and its respective Brgy. Nutrition Scholars, NEFEDCCO officials led by Chairperson Gerardo Delos Santos and PCC Deputy Executive Director Dr. Caro Salces also graced the celebration. ###JD<\/span><\/p>\n
