{"id":20735,"date":"2024-08-09T13:39:29","date_gmt":"2024-08-09T05:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pcaf.da.gov.ph\/?p=20735"},"modified":"2024-08-20T13:40:18","modified_gmt":"2024-08-20T05:40:18","slug":"pcaf-reinforces-commitment-to-equality-with-gender-sensitivity-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pcaf.da.gov.ph\/index.php\/2024\/08\/09\/pcaf-reinforces-commitment-to-equality-with-gender-sensitivity-training\/","title":{"rendered":"PCAF reinforces commitment to equality with Gender Sensitivity Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20750\" src=\"https:\/\/pcaf.da.gov.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/IMG_6409.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1248\" height=\"832\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pcaf.da.gov.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/IMG_6409.jpg 1248w, https:\/\/pcaf.da.gov.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/IMG_6409-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pcaf.da.gov.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/IMG_6409-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/pcaf.da.gov.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/IMG_6409-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pcaf.da.gov.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/IMG_6409-500x333.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1248px) 100vw, 1248px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisherie<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(PCAF) facilitated the conduct of Gender Sensitivity Training on August 6-8, 2024 at the Apacible Conference Room in Quezon City<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as part of the Agency\u2019s commitment to continuous service improvement and capacity building for its employees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The agency&#8217;s Gender and Development Focal Point System (GAD-FPS), in collaboration with the Partnership Development Division&nbsp; Capacity Development Section (PDD-CDS) and the Human Resource Development Committee (HRDC), facilitated the three-day training.&nbsp; The activity is aimed to enhance the learners&#8217; knowledge and understanding of gender sensitivity and encourage appreciation for gender differences.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In her opening message, GAD-FPS Chairperson Floreliz Avellana emphasized the importance of not only upholding&nbsp; the equal opportunities for men and women but also learning about gender analysis, which is essential&nbsp; in drafting the GAD plans and budget.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A total of 26 participants, composed of GAD-FPS members and selected PCAF personnel, attended the training. These participants were chosen for their potential to contribute to GAD-FPS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gender Consultant Maria Daryl Lardizabal Leyesa, an accredited subject matter specialist&nbsp; by&nbsp; the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), served as the Resource Person.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She discussed the introduction to gender and development, concepts and definitions, and how gender is being&nbsp; constructed.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leyesa also explained the manifestations of gender biases, gender issues mapping and response, and legal mandates and policy imperatives on GAD and gender mainstreaming,&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the last day, the resource speaker discussed introduction to GAD planning and budgeting which includes the vision of a gender-fair society, and commitment setting vis-\u00e0-vis GAD plan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GAD-FPS Vice-Chairperson Conchita del Rosario&nbsp; encouraged the participants to continue their awareness, appreciation and common level of understanding on gender sensitivity and convince others about it. \u201cIt is a continuous process of learning and applying what we learned in this training,\u201d she said. | Jane Bri\u00f1a<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"display: flex;
